Robert,
That is an amazing photograph; I got quite a lump in my throat when I saw it. I think Captain Blood is the greatest film ever made and as George MacDonald Fraser quite rightly says the swordfight from Blood 'belongs in some swordsmans valhalla of its own'. Thank you so much for posting.
best wishes,
Brian.

“Captain Blood” is special to me also. In fact, I get more fascination from walking through Flynn's Appian Way house than I did Mulholland, precisely because those walls saw and heard him while “Captain Blood” was exploding on the world scene. What must he have been thinking and feeling in those electric months!
Btw, Fraser's “Hollywood History Of The World” is one of my very favorite books on film.
Thanks, Brian

Robert,
When I was a young boy I had a habit of reading Fraser's 'Hollywood History of the World' before I went to sleep. It always sent me to sleep with my mind filled with high adventure, swordplay and a sense of chivalry; I agree completely it is one of the finest books on film.
Captain Blood, well, what can I say. Flynn blew the screen apart… knocked my socks off the first time I saw it and still does.
I envy you the chance to have been to some of these places, I do plan a trip to the States once I finish my studies.
best wishes,
Brian.

And if you make it to Hollywood I'd be happy to show you some Flynn haunts.

Hi Brian;
I think I haven't loved a sentence as much as yours for a long time!
“Captain Blood, well, what can I say. Flynn blew the screen apart… knocked my socks off the first time I saw it and still does.”
Wow!!!

Hi Robert;
What an offer – is that maybe open to other people too? Asking in a coy way!
All the best,
Tina
