ERROL FLYNN CHRISTMAS BALL NEWS!

27 Nov

NEED OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS FOR THE
BALL?

Not a problem.  Just call our hotel and villa

If there’s anyone that knows accommodations in Port Antonio/Portland, it’s
Yvonne for sure!

‘YA GOTTA HAVE A PENCIL THIN
MUSTACHE’!

Well…it’s not exactly mandatory for admittance, but
if you guys really want to get in the spirit of the evening, try growing a
Errol Flynn style pencil thin mustache between now and Dec. 17 when the
Christmas Ball rolls around.  If you show up without one, we’ll even be
able to provide a temporary one.  Or… as the Jimmy Buffet song goes:

“Oh, I could be anyone I wanted to be
Maybe suave Errol Flynn or the Sheik of Araby
If I only had a pencil thin mustache
Then I could do some cruisin' too”

THREE WEEKS TO GO UNTIL THE BALL

Yes, it’s time to get your act in gear and plan to be
with us in Port Antonio Saturday night, Dec 17. We’ll plan to have the whole
“nine yards”, i.e. perfect night, great scenery, fantastic dance music, lots of
camaraderie, Ken Wright Pier aglow with thousands of tiny white lights,
everybody duded up in their holiday best and the moon in it’s final
phase.  Also, if you’ve been waiting for pay day to buy tickets, there’s
no more excuses beyond today.  Tickets are $3,000.00 in advance and
$3,500.00 if you wait to pay at the door.  If you’re in Kingston, swing by
Stewart’s Automotive Center at 5 Orchard Road for tickets.  In Port
Antonio, visit the Errol Flynn Marina which is open every day. Got a question?

From the Errol Flynn Mailbag!

26 Nov

I got a nice email from Steve Hayes today, wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving and bringing me up to date with things in LA. Steve and his sometime English collaborator writer David Whitehead are busy with new books and David updated Steve's website at SteveHayes.org… recently. Steve and his lovely wife Robbin were literally headed out the door to spend some time in Palm Springs. Steve is writing westerns and two new mysteries, he says – working out on the treadmill and enjoying life!

When I grow up, I want to be just like Steve Hayes!

Laurence Oliver & Errol Flynn

25 Nov

I've just been watching Olivier in Rebecca and have been revisiting Olivier's work.

I have a few biographies on Olivier but Errol is not mentioned in these.  I can't believe they both did not have any contact with each other, especially knowing both Laurence & Errol were good friends of Noel Coward.

Does anyone know, have read or have photos of Laurence and Errol together.  I suspect both would have been good friends or got along, and again as David Niven was a friend of Laurence's, they must have been friends.

If anyone can add further, would appreciate the information.

kind regards Diana

A Reader poses this Question!

24 Nov

Vicky Nelson asks:

Is there any chance if you would know who is in this negative.

Found at the Hollywood home of a person quite involved in film.

We were wondering if it was Erroll & Olivia and maybe some

other leading lady.

Thank you for your help.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Vicky Nelson

PS…..negative is 7 3/4” x 9 3/4”
