Errol Flynn Xmas Ball in Jamaica 2011!
ERROL FLYNN CHRISTMAS BALL NEWS
IT’S JUST A MONTH AWAY!
Want
to miss your chance to attend the best holiday bash in Jamaica? Then keep
procrastinating about getting your tickets for the Errol Flynn Christmas Ball
Dec. 17 in Port Antonio. Not only will you be enjoying a fabulous holiday
season party and dance, you’ll also be helping someone less fortunate at the
same time. The Ball benefits the Homeless Shelter and Rehabilitation
Centre in Portland. Tickets are $3,000.00 in advance and $3,500.00 at the
door. Stewarts Automotive Group in Kingston is your outlet in that
area. See them at 5 Orchard Road or call 876-968-0930. In Port Antonio,
get tickets at the Errol Flynn Marina, 876-715-6044.
‘FAB FIVE’: GETTING YOUNGER EVERY DAY!
For
those who wonder how Fab 5 has thrived for more than four decades, Frankie
Campbell, manager and bassist for the group cites several reasons.
“We are always looking to keep in touch with musical trends. We may
not be big fans of today's dancehall music, but every year, there are great
songs and we try to make sure that we perform these songs and keep ourselves relevant
to the younger generation. “At the same time, we periodically infuse
new and younger talent into the band so that we maintain our energy and
enthusiasm. The other thing is we like what we do and treat it like a job that
we are privileged to have, rather than some burden forced on us. Fab 5, with
the backing of artistes on shows and the new songs we put into our bandstand
catalogue, must be one of the most rehearsed bands in the world. We are
constantly in rehearsal.”
BUFFET DINNER SERVICE AVAILABLE
A
full buffet service will be available at Norma’s Beach Bar and Grille
from 6:30 p .m. until 10 p.m for those wanting something more than finger
food and other snacks. Norma’s is located immediately adjacent to the Ken
Wright Pier where the Errol Flynn Christmas Ball is being held. Buffet price is
$1,000.00 JAD for single entrée, $1200 for double entrée.
OUR HONORARY CHAIRPERSON
We
couldn’t be more pleased than to have Mrs. Diana Stewart as the honorary
chairperson of the Errol Flynn Christmas Ball. Mrs. Stewart did yeoman
service for the balls held in 2009 and 2010 and is now a most appreciated
advisor to your steering committee.

CHECK OUT OUR FACEBOOK PAGE:
If
you’re into social networking, please check out our Facebook page: “Errol Flynn
Christmas Benefit Ball”, for complete details on our planned evening Dec. 17 in
Port Antonio. You will discover (and continue to discover) a variety of
facts about Errol Flynn, his wife and Ball patron, Patrice Wymore Flynn, and
the handsome guy that’s carrying on the famous Flynn moniker: grandson
Luke Flynn. Yes, Luke will be there at the ball; likely being mistaken
for his legendary grandfather.
YES, YOU CAN USE PLASTI C AT THE BALL!
VISA,
Masterercard and American Express cards will be accepted for payment at the
ball. This service is provided by First Caribbean Bank, a sponsor of the
event.
WILL ERROL FLYNN’S ‘ZACA’ BE THERE?…WELL ALMOST!
We
are pleased to note the 136 foot Barquentine tall ship, “Corwith Cramer”
will be berthed at the end of the Ken Wright Pier on the night of the Errol
Flynn Christmas Ball. She’s a spectacular sight under full sail and
operates as a sail training ship in the Caribbean. Errol Flynn’s Zaca, at
118 feet, was a gaff-rigged schooner. Zaca is still seen in the
Mediterranean where it has been fully restored to its former glory.

In the Wake of the Zaca
I believe there have been a couple of video segments of the Zaca posted, but I hadn't seen this one, which is a very nice piece of Zaca history with clips of Errol (which many of us have seen before).
Here's the video. It's about 26 minutes.
Unfortunately the creator of the video does not allow embedding it.
