Excerpt:
Oscar winner Kevin Kline is attached to play screen legend Errol Flynn in “The Last of Robin Hood,” an indie pic set up at Killer Films that “Quinceanera” helmers Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland will direct from their own original screenplay.
Pic, which is based on Flynn’s last days before he died of a heart attack at age 50, follows his relationship with 17 year-old Beverly Aadland, an actress who was allegedly seduced by Flynn when she was only 15 years-old and eventually grew to love the “Adventures of Robin Hood” star. She also co-starred in Flynn’s last film “Cuban Rebel Girls.”
Read about it online in Variety!

Kevin also played Doug Fairbanks. He does have a slight likeness but with makeup. Age is really kreepin up on Kevin I see. He almost looks like me! LOL!

Not sure about the likeness either! But if he looks like you, timerider, you should become a movie star, too!

Fascinating news! I remember Kline in “Sophie’s Choice” where he wears an “Errol Flynn”-style mustache and I remember thinking, he would make a great Errol Flynn! Judging by his performance as Douglas Fairbanks I am sure he will be great. So thank you for this bit of news, David and let us know if you hear any more! (BTW, Susan Sarandon is awesome, but she’s too pretty to be Florence Aadland. At least judging from pictures I’ve seen of Florence, Does anyone remember Tracey Ullman in the role? Susan Sarandon will have to be very de-glamorized for that role! Wonder if they will have an actor play young Sean, Errol’s son, who when he met Beverly, he thought Errol had brought her along as a date for him as he and Beverly were very close in age at the time? Can’t wait to see it!.–A. R.

I recall Tracey Ullman in the role, yes – and agree Susan Sarandon would need to be frowsy looking but she is an amazing actress and could carry off the personality well – Robert F is an adviser and will keep an eye on the production for us!

That’s good to know about Robert. Then all my worries have no basis anymore.

However, I wonder why they make a bio about the old Errol… hm…

Finally, I always thought he would be perfect for a bio since he looks so much like him. Imagine him over Duncan way back when for MWWW. I know I will enjoy it but wish he would have done Flynn in his prime instead of at the end. It is nice to see that folks are still thinking of him in some way.

I have always thought that Kevin Kline had a very slight resemblance to Flynn, I feel he will do the role justice, and manage to capture just the essence of the character of Flynn.

Yes, I agree! When I heard this news, I thought about how, if I were to make a film about Errol, I always thought Kevin Kline would be perfect to play Errol in his 40s.

I hope he does Errol justice portraying him on the big screen.
