“Captain Blood-Then & Now” Laguna Beach

21 May

More from my “Captain Blood” shots. Three Arch Bay is a private beach within a naturally enclosed double-cove that’s part of a gated community and not open to the public. In the fourth photo you’ll notice the top of a rock I call “the teapot handle” has eroded away. The Flynn-Rathbone duel was actually filmed in both coves but edited to appear as if one location.

At some point I will post “Then & Now” scenes from the film that were shot in Palm Canyon, California. Palm Canyon and Laguna Beach were the only locations outside the studio that were used in filming “Captain Blood.”

Enjoy!

I am celebrating!

20 May

Google+ mangled my Errol YOU TUBE channel and mixed it up with a website of some health company. It took me three month to finally fix this problem and hundreds of hours. The time I spent on it is unbelievable and Google or You Tube does not help. I finally got a friend to help me who knew more about it than I did. What an ordeal! And now that my Bariebel Channel is back to normal I am celebrating with Errol!

Flynn + Fantasy?

19 May

I have a guilty pleasure of a wish that a Flynn in better shape could have stared in this 1958 classic film that is on Blu Ray and has more than a cult following since it is a Ray Harryhausen film. I love fantasy and science fiction and I think he would have been perfect in the role that Kerwin Mathews had. The only problem is that all his films were low budget back then and they would not have been able to afford Flynn. Anyway its fun to dream about it.null

New Images and Links

17 May

I get bored at work and to keep from losing my mind I search the net on all my interests. Last night it was Flynn and I was successful.
The first link is for an event that happened a few years ago but the article contains a photo that is huge, meaning of high quality (2.42mb!) and could be blown up to poster size. It is a shot from Captain Blood and I have never seen it before. I don’t find images that big very often. This one is not included in the photos posted since the file is so big so you have to go to the link. I hope you have not seen them. This always makes me think how many others there are.

I remember reading that The Case Of The Curious Bride may be lost? Here it is, just follow the link.

Can you spot. Errol

16 May

Hi all

It is Albera ST Schools 100th centenary .And they are having a large day to celebrate this. We have been sent 2 pics 1 is of the school class and 1 I believe is of the dancing school he attended at the theater Royal. The dancing teachers name is Miss Lola Smith if this  helps. Now comes the hard part do any of you recognise Errol in these pics as to help us add to the information we can give the school as Errol was attending Albera St at this time. And as the teacher said he is the most famous person to attend the school . Love Genene.
