In our time the bee symbolises the overcoming of adversity. This is a lovely piece. I can’t get into the article at the moment but those ear rings in that photo of Dakota are also rather nice! Errol himself was a very elegant and classy dresser.
That’s fascinating, Maria. I didn’t know that. Being a man so knowledgeable about life & nature, I’m sure Errol was intending some meaningful symbolism with his gift(s) to Bev (and others.)
The first two pages of this link confirm what you say!
Fascinating insight. I appreciate that the costume designer declined the actual jewelry that Errol had given Beverly. But IT WAS THE ACTUAL JEWELRY ERROL HAD GIVEN BEVERLY! What a missed opportunity! Genuine history that could have been captured for posterity. Oh well, her heart was in the right place.
What GREAT thinking, zacal! Wow, you are so right!! … Maybe/hopefully they got some of Errol’s things in there? – cuff links, cigarette case & holders, flasks, question mark clothing, etc. That would have been SO VERY cool!!!
In the next film, zacal! One about or including scenes from his heyday in Hollywood Hills, perhaps!!!

Very pretty! Would that be a ‘B’ee for Beverly. :)

Very clever, Lollie! … Though bees are rarely properly appreciated, Errol clearly knew it was good to Give B(ee)s a Chance.
Hope that didn’t sting too much, ‘honey’!
