    Thanks for these, they’re both fun. At the end of the article about who would have made a great Indiana Jones, there was a comment about “Secret of the Incas” starring Charlton Heston as being the original, suggesting Raiders is an unofficial remake. (indeed, Heston’s costume is almost exactly like the costume of Indiana Jones) If only Errol had done “King Solomon’s Mines”. But he also would have been terrific in “Secret of the Incas”, made around the same time as “Lilacs In The Spring”. Errol would have been so right for so many roles but the image of him in an adventure film always stands out.

      Thanks for your always great info & insight, zacal. Here’s an image of Indiana Heston himself. No doubt he was a primary inspiration! P.S …. I wonder how Errol would have got on with the Peruvian Princess, Yma Sumac? (Or, was she really “just” Amy Camus (Yma Sumac “backwards”), the 5-Octave Songbird from Brooklyn!?)
