Captain Blood: The Next Frontier?

As we all know, Errol’s Captain Blood was astronomically successful. It made him a star. In recognition of the film’s greatness, eighty years later, it may finally be remade – in outer space! … Whatta ya’ think?!!

    I don’t know. It’s almost a cliche. Actually, it IS a cliche to remake a movie and then add “…in space!” Spartacus…in space! High Noon…in space! Etc.
    The truth is Captain Blood was a fictionalized version of Morgan the Pirate. The main difference is that Peter Blood is a doctor. But otherwise both were legendary pirates who ultimately became Governors.
    Back when Arnold Schwarzenegger was at his box-office peak,(circa 1994) he seriously considered a Captain Blood remake and commissioned a painting depicting him in the role to help him decide. I guess he didn’t like the finished product.(Though I think it looks pretty good.)

    Actually, Arnie would have made a great Morgan the Pirate!And did of course become a “Governator” LOL!
