Thanks for this post, Gent! Rod Taylor was a personal favorite of mine. I’m very sad that I never contacted him before his passing when I could have done it so easily. I’m glad I grew up and saw his movies when he was on every movie screen. The Time Machine was an an anchor film to me growing up. Would have been nice to thank him for his many wonderful performances …

TCM/NA will have a Rod Taylor retrospective on 1/29/15 starting @ 8:00pm EST. “The Time Machine” was one of my favorite sci-fi films. RIP: Rod Taylor!–A. R.

Yes, they will showing some of his best performances, unfortunately they won’t be showing “Dark of the Sun” which was directed by our friend, Jack Cardiff and which I believe is one of his best adventure films.–A. R.

He was great. Perfect in Time Machine. “Vastly unappreciated” though:

I wonder how much influence Flynn had on him? This photo suggests a great deal:

btw, he also evidently descended from a family of explorers, and was reputed to be rather pugilistically adept, not unlike Our Man Flynn.

Here is an amazing coincidence; actress Anita Ekberg has also just passed away and has joined one-time love Rod Taylor in the hereafter!–A. R.

If you believe in this sort of thing, celebrities in Hollywood die three at a time … Has happened over and over again. We’ll see …

Amazing. She was just in two of our posts – here and one on Errol’s Most Beautiful Girlfriends. Miss Sweden.

Great comment, Gent! She was a surreal beauty, dubbed “Scandic Vulcano” by Italian industralist Gianni Agnelli. And as we know, she also was Baron Sepy`s inspiration for his golden statuettes. She truely was worth her weight in gold- an ounce for every pound!

Yes, playboyheinz. A.E. was truly a statuesque beauty and Sepy was truly “the barer of good nudes”.
