Shangheinz Shanties

01 Mar

Dear fellow Flynn fans,

a shanty here is a little ditty,

about Errol Flynn and the nitty gritty,

it`s tis`n´dat and “O my gosh”,

but mostly it is buckled swash.

Enjoy,

    Wonderful, shantyheinz. Thank you.

Was this Errol’s Swan Song? Searching for gold right the end. Good for him. He sure was a treasure.

Hope you don’t mind, but I had to fast forward through the commercials … I mean words for the sponsors.

I think Errol’s appearance on the Red Skeleton Show with Beverly Aadland might be his last professional work …

Isn’t it fascinating that Errol’s last director was the great Arthur Hiller! From what I’ve read, parts of the filming were very emotional and poignant.

It was Ryan O`Neal that starred in an epic where the role in sooner times could well have gone to our Hollywood hero: www.youtube.com…
Done by the same director that was considering Errol for his “Lolita” film.

I think BARRY LYNDON and Errol Flynn would have been good for each other. That film is a favorite of mine…it’s got amazing cinematography (lots by candlelight…how?) and costumes. So much detail. The costume designer, Milena Canonero, deservedly won an Oscar for it, and just won again this year.

Thank you for posting Shangheinz. Yes, while Errol’s last appearance on TV was on “Red Skelton”, “The Golden Shanty” was his last real acting role. This was a most different role for him. Like his last book, this last role would be seen posthumously.–A. R.

A.R. how R.U? Shantynanigans like these keep Errol`s spirit alive.

The aspect ratio is way off. It should look like THIS:
