Errol & Greer in Londontown

12 Mar

Errol & Greer at the Odeon Theater, Marble Arch, for a Royal Command Performance.

Here’s a great description of the event, and their performance together in the featured film.

Your very welcome, twinarchers. The Odeon Marble Arch was quite the movie palace in those days. Three Wurlitzers, I believe!!! Adolph fly bombed it in ’45 – but it survived. (Or, perhaps he really was aiming for Speakers Corner!?)

Anyhoo, Errol came in from Kim for a Command, and commanding, performance of The Saga. The Royals loved Robin Hood.

My pleasure, Paula. Isn’t that a wonderful assessment of Errol’s great acting talent.

Here was his date/fiance for the evening:

With Ann Neagle in the same royal queue, this happening marks the first rehearsal for “King`s rhapsody”.

Jean Simmons was there that night too. She of course got together with swashbuckler 2nd in command (www.theerrolflynnblog.com…) and then it was their turn for a Royal Night in. First with Young Bess in `53 and then with the big one, Beau Brummel in 1954: www.youtube.com…
