Wish I could be there…I love St. Augustine and I love Errol Flynn. The fort would have made good set for one his movies :)

Amazing you say that, Paula! The famous fort in St. Augustine (Castillo de San Marcos) WAS very prominently featured in the 1951 film Distant Drums— Raoul Walsh’s “quasi-remake” of Errol’s Objective Burma!
Here’s some scenes of “Fort Infanta”, as it’s called in Distant Drums:

Here’s an aerial of “Castillo”, along with the city’s magnificent Colonoal Quarter, America’s oldest city, and the site of Sir Francis Drake’s legendary raid on the Spanish Main.

Oh, how cool! I’ve never seen DISTANT DRUMS…I’ll have to check that out. OBJECTIVE: BURMA is a fave, Flynn is so very good in it.
