Very fittingly voiced by Sir Christpher Plummer, whose autobiography might provide an anecdote or two about our Hollywood hero: www.popmatters.com…
Here’s a short review of Plummer’s autobiography: “Widely reviewed when it came out in the fall, the book is already among the very best Hollywood memoirs, alongside David Niven’s ‘The Moon’s a Balloon,’ Lauren Bacall’s
‘By Myself,’ or Errol Flynn’s ‘My Wicked, Wicked Ways.’ ”
As for the cartoon character Muntz’s resemblance to Errol Flynn, it’s one of the more fun depictions of him. I’m not sure I thought of it when I saw the film.(In the film, the character of Muntz is basically a version of Kurtz from “Heart of Darkness”.) It’ll be fun to look at it again and see the “older” depiction of Errol Flynn.
