I am so pleased to see that Errol had been here. I have an autograph from a lady who got it signed by Errol, when she was a girl, outside The Rock Hotel. He was with Patrice and she said he was the most handsome man she had ever seen!!!
Very cool, Miss Leigh! Would it be possible for you to post a copy of the autograph for Errol Flynn fans to see? That, too, would be very cool.
P.S. Tomorrow being John Lennon’s 80th birthday, it may be worth noting that he also has a connection to The Rock, where he married and, even more famously, about which he wrote a hit song (hated by Franco) referencing his time on “Gibraltar, near Spain”. Lennon wasn’t nearly as handsome or athletic as Errol, of course, but, imo, did share other traits and qualities. Plus, Lennon was a fan. I’ll refrain here from making any Lili-Yoko comparisons!
I wonder how the Franco felt about Errol being in Spain, whether he held any anger or hard feelings related to Errol’s activities during the Spanish Civil War.
