He was run over and killed by a taxi cab while in Las Vegas on a venture he discussed during his ” co-starring” appearance with Errol.
He has been credited with inventing the modern American nightclub.
Marcus Loew advance man. Florenz Ziegfield talent scout.
“The Biggest Act in Vaudeville” – “The World’s Loveliest Girls”
He was once arrested with Texas Guinan.
He was very good friends with Yvonne de Carlo, for whom, as with many other beautiful female performers (and some famous males, as well – including one who once had a featured role over Errol’s “supporting” role in a movie), he helped launch her career in show business.

And then he went West to the Florentine Gardens, with a very popular show for GIs during WWII:

Off Fort-Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. I can see her location from where I presently am in Florida:

Here are the Cherbourg Roadsteads: Grand Rade & Petite Rade.

Here’s another roadstead Errol would have been familiar with, the one at Ormos Ammoudi, Santorini:

Early on, he very likely read in “Robinson Crusoe” about the roadstead in Yarmouth.

“BIG NOISE FROM WINNETKA”
from
“Reveille with Beverly” (A title and event Errol likely enjoyed.)
And here’s the ODJB, with Band Leader Nick LaRocca on Cornet:

If someone doesn’t come to the rescue, we may have to ring the Lutene Bell – once. … Twice if some identifies what show Errol was on that all the above clues stem from. If you have any questions, please post them. I accept both easy questions and hard questions.
Below is the HMS Lutene in Distress – much like this here quiz. Hopefully, we will recover – with two bells, not one – like the Red Rock, which Errol was also familiar with.

Bravo, Sir David! Two rings of the Lutine Bell for you!!

Yes, all the above clues arise directly from The Big Show personalities, topics, and sponsors during the broadcast with Errol. The first guest answered questions about jazz history. Then came Errol, discussing famous ships that have sunk, and other nautical subjects. Then came burlesque impresario , Nils Thor “Granny” “NTG” Granlund, on the subject of the Roaring Twenties. Then former World Champion wrestler,”Strangler Lewis”, who, I believe, was cut off until “next week” before Mike Wallace posed any questions, either easy or hard.
