Another little quiz!

31 Jan

While we are exchanging knowledge about Errol’s idiosyncrasies here is another quiz:

In which movie did Errol mentioned a name, which existed for real in his private life?

    Another great quiz, Tina! Really gets one thinking!!

    I’m going to give a few possibly “correct” answers, but none of these are what you’re referring to, I’m sure.

    1) Cruise of the Zaca
    2) Cuban Rebel Girls
    3) Cuban Story

    There are also a number of shorts, such as those with Howard Hill.

    Is your movie a fictional story?

      Hi Tim, keep on guessing and you are right it is none of them, it is a regular movie with a good story. There are only few movies in which Errol smuggles in private information, items etc.

        This may be too little, too late, Tina, but I am going to say:

        “Too Much, Too Soon”

          No Tim it is not Too Much Too Soon.

    Hi Tom and Tim;
    No it is not a boat or dog or somewhere he lived.

    It is living, it is a name, he owned it and he mentioned it in a movie, like his date of birth in Captain Blood and in Dawn Patrol his father’s profession.

    I just noticed that my little Errol quiz is not solved as of now.
    So what happened Tim and Tom?
    You are not giving up?
    Here is a clue – the movie played yesterday – Tuesday on TCM in which the name we are looking for comes up.

      Are you possibly referring to Onyx being in San Antonio, Tina?

        Hi Tim;
        Sorry for not answering sooner but I was away from the blog.
        Yes it was ONYX – you are the winner!
        At the beginning of the movie when Errol is talking to Charlie Bell (John Litel) he is calling his horse by his name.
        Great Movie!

          Thank you, Tina, that was a fun litel quiz!

          Is this Onyx in this scene?

          You’ve inspired me to come up with another horse-related quiz!

            I don’t know that Tim but Errol calls him that.
            It’s hard to tell from this little photo but that is the scene. We have to enlarge the picture and see if the head matches.
            Lets see what we can come up with.
            Looking forward to your quiz.

              I enlarged the picture and found it is not Onyx as Onyx has a white mark on his forehead and this horse is all black. I would say it is most likely John Litle’s horse and Onyx is just not in the this picture.

        See your picture above – this is Onyx with the white mark on his forehead!

          Another Flynnian mystery, Tina! … Maybe Onyx was painted for the scene? Or, maybe Errol just wanted to get Onyx mentioned in one of his movies?? Or maybe he was just horsing around.
