3) Blindfolds were involved in one part of Errol’s appearance, handcuffs in another.

That is an excellent answer, Bob, and possibly even a correct answer if there are any Black Entertainers in the film that could act, sing and dance, which there well may be, though I don’t know.

Because you’re likely correct, you win, though I’d like to proceed with the other answer to the quiz, which, by the way, was filmed very close in time to Roots of Heaven.

    Congratulations, Bob!

My guess is “Istanbul” (1957) with black recording superstar Nat King Cole! When Cole died in 1965, America mourned his passing. Natalie King Cole his gifted daughter died in 2015. Thanks Tim, Ralph Schiller

Another excellent answer, Ralph. The Black Entertainer I’m referring to was a more well know dancer and actor than than one of my favorite singers, the great Nat King Cole. Some might think he or she might even rival Nat King Cole as a singer, too.

btw, Errol’s appearance involves a type of Errolean entertainment regarding which you are a top authority, and it is also in thw general timeframe of Istanbul.

    Another couple of clues:

    1) The White Hunter is now a noted photographer in Africa, though not a household name in America.

    2) The Black Entertainer was/is a household name.

    Two more clues:

There were two other women involved, along side Errol both very well known for their associations with Broadway, also household names in their day, though not so much today:

    1) One was well known for the heart shaped diamond pendant she very frequently wore. She was very fun with Errol in this.

    2) The other had a Hearst association and a connection of sorts to the Assassination of JFK.

It’s Errol on What’s My Line – Sammy Davis Jr is the black entertainer. It was 1957.

Your questioning was a little reaching, particulary for those who have not followed Flynn’s career into television land beyond his Errol Flynn Theatre programs in the U.K.

The answer is: May 26, 1957 on the CBS-TV television program What’s My Line.

This was a 30-minute panel, game show that was broadcast 10:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time from New York City, sponsored by Remington Rand. This is Season 8, Episode 364. The black entertainer was Sammy Davis Jr. and the white hunter was Mirella Richiardi. It was fun to watch.

    What's My Line?

    Enjoy,

    Ada

Congratulations, Ada! You won the Silver, a close second behind beach gal!

Regarding the difficulty level, the extraordinary EFB authors here would answer quizzes in minutes if I made these quizzes any less difficult. As it is, this was answered by multiple parties in only about twelve hours, many or most of which were during sleeping hours.

      Thanks for participating!

Errol was on What’s My Line once more that next year as the Mystery Guest. I remember both shows.
