A new AFL stadium in Tasmania? – Maybe an “Errol Flynn Stadium”?
Will fans travel the yellow tint road?

What a load of bunkum. Tassie has a population of only 519,000 with the major centres being Hobart with 200k and Launceston with 100k. this man is talking through his hat as we do not have the population to support a stadium in the middle of the state. It would gather cobwebs. Yes it would be great to have a stadium named after Errol but this proposal is not realistic. Unfortunately Errolis not well respected here as he was a “bad boy” and surely if there was a sporting stadium should it not be named after a sportsman or woman??

Sorry to hear that, tassie devil.
Perhaps if the team renamed the (setting) Suns or (midget league) Giants, the “Devils” or “Bad Boys”, that would make Errol more fitting for all the fans. But, quite famously, the AFL’s championship team, the Western Bulldogs, already greatly honors “Errol” as their theme song, so that may complicate matters more.
Perhaps then a theater named after Errol in Hobart. Is there one yet? Here’s a possible candidate for renaming, where Errol used to watch movies as a kid, I believe. How about renaming the State Cinema the “Errol Flynn Cinema and Rooftop Bar”, or something along those lines? Wouldn’t that be grand?
