I hope this is a good film about Flynn and it sticks close to the book BEAMS END. This photo of the actor playing Flynn isn’t true since there are no photos of Flynn looking like a bum. He always dressed classy even as a teenager, and when he went to New Guinea jungles. It was the style then to dress classy even if you were a roustabout in the jungle. I just hope they haven’t put 2018 feel into a film that took place in the 1920s. Filmmakers and actors have that tendency to dress the way they think it should be and not the way it was, because it looks different. I’m sure we will all get to see this film eventually and make our opinions known

Great observations, Jack. I share your concerns! That line about this being unlike any film ever made in Australia could be very bad news, or very good news, or something in between, so hard to tell. One thing we know for sure us that’s it’s a near impossible feat to find any actor who can accurately capture the magic of Errol Flynn. Hollywood’s been trying and failing since 1935. I hope thus new kid can do it.
Highly unlikely, but I hope it’s wonderful, making the Master of Mulholland a big hit with the Millennials.
This director, Russell Mulcahey, has quite an extensive and distinguished resume, perhaps most notably for his pioneering music video direction and editing. In fact, he did Bette Davis Eyes, which I perceive to have several Errol allusions, including what I believe to be a Bette-slapping-Errol slap track running throughout much of the video! Let’s hope Flynnie doesn’t get slapped around in this latest biopic!

There’s only one Errol Flynn, I’m cautiously optimistic about the quality of it. He’s more of a state of mind I think. I just watched ELIZABETH AND ESSEX the other day, he really is so good in it.
