One of my favorites, too, David. Though Olivia would have elevated the film even further I find it fascinating that Errol’s leading lady was a Filipina. I doubt Warner’s would have advertised that at the time/maybe a reason her name was changed to the rather Amerigeneric “Brenda Marshall”.
I believe this new release may include the following “Special Features”:
Leonard Maltin hosts Warner Night at the Movies 1940 (SD) with Newsreel
Thanks Tim. What I want is a restored version not just a current version put on Blu Ray. It would be nice to have a commentary as well. I don’t think this will happen. If the image is good enough I will get this but I have it on DVD already with the tint etc. Should I get it just cause?
I have decided to link a review for this since it very hard for me to do a side by side comparison. It is better than the dvd for sure. Another review mentioned that some of the scenes that were cut and then put back for the full length version are not as good and I agree. You can tell they are not from an original print and perhaps it is made more obvious since most of the film looks so good. Much more grainy and not as clear. One thing I noticed is that they make no mention on the outer case that this is a new master for 2018. It talks about the special features but that is it. You will just have to decide for yourself on how good a job they did if you ever purchase this. One reason I did was to show Warners there is a market and that they may do more of his films that need it. Especially anything that is in color. whysoblu.com…

Good news. The Warner Archive says it is a new 2018 HD master print so it should be way better than what we have on DVD now. Fantastic!!
