A man not unlike the inspiration for this site…
The passing of a Flynn film alumnus who scored the rousing music for the film Kim among others…
Previn also made this recording:
“Previn Conducts Korngold: The Sea Hawk”
Suites from film scores. Andre Previn, London Symphony Orchestra. DG 289 471 347-2.
And finally, there is a charming little story involving Flynn and Previn on the Kim set that I can’t recall nor find referenced in the books at hand… perhaps someone else will come through?

Thank you, Karl, and Fare Thee Well, Andre! You were one major talent. Many in the classical music world did to you what they did to Erich, all for the sin of scoring for the cinema. As you put it: ~ “they would just as soon forgive you for an ax murder as for having done a movie.”

A talented and famous (Australian) father-in-law, too. Here (at the track?) with a fellow ex patriate from Down Under, appearing not-so-happy with his head-hunting hauteur from Hollywood. (Alliteratively speaking.)
