Beautiful, Karl. There’s no topping Korngold. His music tells the story all by itself. No film needed. Not even Flynn. One could close his or her eyes and still feel the majesty and power of the movie. This recording, climaxing with the vocal version of Strike for the Shores of Dover, is a sublime example. He’s the best there ever was.

Great finds, Tim and Karl! Korngold’s music of course adds so much to the Flynn films and is so beautiful on its own.

    Another “classic” weighs in…

“Korngold has so much talent he could give half away and still have enough left for himself…” Giacomo Puccini (1921)
