It was on Swallow Street, just north of Piccadilly Street, Bob. The Lido Club in your link was at a different location and did indeed closed years earlier.
Thanks for the info I assume this one is now closed also. I am planning a trip to London in the near future and would like to go to some of Errol’s old haunts having never been to London. I will be staying at the Savoy which I was informed he stayed at and visited the bar. After over 60 years it gets harder and harder. Any help would be appreciated.
I haven’t been able to confirm the address of the Lido Club on Swallow Street, but I think it may have been number 9 Swallow Street. That address was even more famous later in Swinging London when it opened as a very exclusive members-only nightclub. It famously featured all four Beatles on opening night, the same day they finished their Revolver album. George Harrison was a 10% owner. Another owner was Tara Browne, the Guiness heir featured in A Day in the Life on the Beatles next album, Sgt.Pepper’s.Lonely Hearts Club Band. Members included Michael Caine, Julie Christie, the Rolling Stones, and Mary Quant, were members
You may want to order Errol’s special vodka drink at the Savoy!
Thanks Tim the depth of your knowledge never ceases to amaze me… I have had vodka many ways including one of Errol’s favorites Zubrowka with bison grass however was not aware nor have I tried it with red pepper. LOL

Thanks, Tim – I’ve seen a few shots from this date/venue. I’m assuming it was taken after Errol had completed the location shoot for Roots of Heaven??

I believe this was taken immediately after Errol’s location work for the Roots of Heaven?

I believe that’s correct, robjack. The two photos linked below were taken during that timeframe,

Errol flew to French Equatorial Africa for filming on March 27, 1958:
