That was very entertaining, thank you. I actually met Cornel Wilde once, in Westwood in the 1980’s. I asked if I could shake his hand and told him how much I enjoyed his work. He was startled that I had recognized him and then said, with a smile, “That’ll be a buck!”

That’s Wilde, Man. I mostly remember him in the Greatest Show on Earth (and Leave It to Heaven, because of Gene Tierney)- looked to be quite a talent. Olympic level fencer? Was that true? Pretty impressive stuff.

Did you give him the buck?

Scribner’s Classics published ROBIN HOOD by Paul Creswick and illustrated by NC Wyeth—in the early 1900’s.  It was reprinted circa 2000 with digitized HD versions of Wyeth’s famous paintings.  In my opinion it is the best modern telling of the Robin Hood legend.
