Thanksgiving Day at Baron Sepy’s Place

28 Nov

happy thanksgiving to all on the efb!

in tribute to sir baronheinz’s labeurs extraordinaire concerning the three barons – the russian baron of lichtenstein, the hungarian baron of coconut grove, and, of course, the tasmanian baron of mulholland – I found and explored the legendary baron sepy’s legendary mansion in coconut grove.

first let me say that this is an Extremely hard place to glimpse, never mind roam through! so, future visitors to miami intent in seeing it, be forewarned! it is very tough to get to – accessible only via a series of two sets of very heavy electric automotive gates, equally heavy private & public security, hidden away at the end of very private, dead-end street, in a very small and secuded neighborhood, thoroughly obscured by lush tropical surroundings.

even so, as i promised a good while back to baronheinz, and reminded by his incredible bus ride and interview in lichtenstein, i made it in! and guess what i found! it’s presently unoccupied and under total renovation – allowing me to visit every nook and cranny!!

first, please meet sepy and anita:

here’s the renowned charging bull portico!

thank you for the inspiration, sepyheinz!

Great peek, Gentlesole Tim. The mansion is unique much like Sepy himself. He was an original: www.theerrolflynnblog.com…
The most famous of his female companions were immortalized as statuettes similar in style to Alberto Giacometti. Here`s an overview where Errol too is mentioned:

Thanks for introducing me to this amazing, globetrotting amigo of Errol’s, travelheinz. While we continue our search for his statuette of Woodsie, I’ll also now be vigilantly-alert and actively on the lookout for the nudes of Brigette & Raquel, as well (and their stolen statuettes.)

btw: I ran into a hitch spotting the cocky baron’s sculpture of “The Birds”, reportedly still located somewhere in Sepy’s Coconut Grove. Perhaps they’re truly being caged in a local collection or gallery. If so, I’ll see if I can free them for a photo, hopefully along with a topless Tippi, if by any chance Sepy ever added that honor and opportunity to his list. (Though I suspect she probably gave them the same advice some waiters in New York Chinese restaurants were occasionally known to give: i.e. “No Tippi, No Comey Backey!”)

Keep on searching Gent, even if you get flipped the bird once in a while. Here is Bevy seen, molded and immortalized by Sepy.

I certainly don’t want to pigeonhole your talents, maestroheinz, but someone, somewhere is going to have to erect a statue in respect for your remarkable research talents!
You have found the astonishing Aadland statuette! Congrats, Old Boy!

… I wonder how long Bevy had to hold that pose.

Here are twenty-something photos of the lucky bastard’s lair:

Concerning The Birds sepyheinz, some believe nearly all my posts are for the birds, so it shan’t be hard for me to keep on searching and proceed on this birds watching expedition. There may be a Hitch in finding this commission; it may still be in The Grove, or it may have taken flight. If The Birds has flown its Floridian cage, I’ll have to wing it. Maybe, if I get lucky, I locate The Birds and the Bees, too. That would be a real coop.

The Birds has eluded me so far * hitchheinz, but my inspired travelmate to Coconut Grove just showed me Sepy’s Sun Goddess Bracelet of ’63. Here she is (the bracelet, that is, not my inspired travelmate):

          * I have however found a description – a three feet high, sterling silver spiral of 200 birds! … This excellent summary of Sepy also has a bit more on his interactions Flynn, and other highlights of his life and career.
