I had commented on another thread respect a Baby shower for Sean. This shower was given to Lili by several Hollywood notables. No photo unfortunately!
Of course there was a description of what she was wearing: An Orange Angel Skin Swagger Jacket with Gold Buttons (of course!). I managed to find a sample of a 1950’s Swagger Jacket:
But not “Angel skin” and no I don’t think she skinned an angel to get it!
What I missed was the little comment on the same page noting that Olivia De Havilland had gone east (to Boston) for 6 weeks (this would be 1941) to recuperate from her Appendectomy that January. My female intuition tells me – “I don’t want to be here when the child is born” . I wonder.

So cool, Maria. I didn’t know what a swagger jacket was. Really neat. … I’m always impressed by Lili’s outfits. This one sounds like it was especially wonderful. Linked below are photos of White and Pink Grapefruit Angelskin. Beautiful. Indeed, heavenly.
Lili almost certainly didn’t skin any real angels for the show, as they were reportedly so few and far between in Hollywood and the so-called City of Angels. Besides, she was much too busy then skinning the Tasmanian Devil alive – and she did a hell of a job at it.

I fell in love with Miss De Havilland at age 15, the first time I saw her with Mr. Flynn and was always jealous of him. Now at 72 I am still in love with her, I’ll bet Lili was a little jealous too!
