New EF Book?

31 Aug

Hello All –

Just a brief note to say that Amazon has listed yet a new David Bret publication on EF due out in November 2009 entitled “Gentleman Hellraiser”. I did not bother reading his first attempt — by all accounts a massive work of fiction with little or no reliable sources. Apparently, Mr. Bret is taking a second run at the topic in order to expand upon “new material” that he did not include the first time around.

    I thought Bret was dead? I saw that too and it confused me. I never read his book either.

    Hi Rick;
    I think the book is on the market now and thank you for your warning. I have answered to TwinArchers which I also intended for you to read, but noticed after that I left your name out. Sorry.
    Hope to hear from you!

    My reply does not show up for some reason so I will post again.
    I am all for objective writings but when they go too far off track I dont want anything to do with them.
    The Nazi thing I dont believe and like Olivia said “thats guilt by association”.
    I had originally thought Brett to be dead because of hearing it on a Yahoo group site I use to belong to years ago.
    Earl Conrads book is my favorite because the two or three time I have read it I feel like I am there with them. What more could one ask? My name by the way is Rick but also Twinarchers. I have also been known as Hotwinds.

    Hi TwinArcher;
    What is your EFBlog Author's name?
    What Olivia meant with her statement was that Errol was not guilty in the real sense of guilt as to what ever Erben was up to – except Errol was just and only guilty to the fact that he knew the man and was his close friend, therefore – guilty – but just by association.
    In those days Errol was so naive anybody could have put the wool over his eyes, which many people did most of his life. He looked upon Erben as a father figure. He thought of him as the best thing since sliced bread. Don't forget at the time Erben met Errol, Errol was very much alone in the world, quite a vulnerable position.
    There is so much to this subject one would write a book.
    What is your view about Errol's vulnerability?
    Take care and be active on the blog it's fun for us and for Errol!

    You are aware of another meaning for the term “hotwinds”, I'm hoping?!

    Well yes, I originally came up with it because I am a fire sign and my wife is an air sign and I figured Hotair sounded bad so…
    Now on any new sites I am TwinArchers for basically the same reason. I want to have a webpage one day but they are both spoken for so I may have to come up with a third name.

    I believe David Bret is still alive but he does resemble a corpse.

    Tina,
    I never thought of Errol's vulnerability so I would have to think on it. He was that is for sure but he was so busy at having fun he never go to work on it much.
    Sorry I did not get back to you soon but I just recieved this in my e-mail.
    This is a great site and a better format than yahoo groups.
    I was hoping I would hear info about Errol and WWII since records were recently released about the OSS. It turns out that Julia Child was a big time agent of records or something so I hope they get to Errol one day if he ever was involved.

    Hi TwinArchers;
    It is great to hear from you and I hope you pop by much more often.
    Our blog has a way to inform you by e-mail of every post that is made and therefore you never miss out to see what is going on!
    Your post is very interesting in particular “Julia Child”, do you have any information about her? Is there a way to get in touch with her? I never heard of her.
    In regards to Errol's war records, he applied to every venue of the war department, but was refused by all due to his health condition. He had a heart condition, tuberculosis and other health problems. He was shuttered to find out to be classified as 4F, which means that the person is unfit for military service.
    To serve the war efforts as best as he could was to entertain the troops, sell war bonds, give speeches in South America to win the loyalty of South Americans in an effort to keep the Nazis out of South America. He gave his efforts in various activities to help his country, which he did frequently and in the best way he could. When all failed and as a last resort he even contacted President Roosevelt to offer his services as a spy to infiltrate the enemy. He tried his utmost to be part of the war efforts!
    Furthermore, Warner Brothers and maybe Errol himself kept his health condition a secret as it may have been bad for the movie business.
    I hope this answers your question and moreover, I would love to hear from you again!
    Take care,
    Tina

    Julia Child is dead! She was the first and most famous of the celebrity chefs ever I would say. She died a few years ago when she was in her 90's. Are you pulling my leg about not knowing who she is??? Ha ha.
    I know all about Errols 4f status but there has been some talk that he may have done some work for the allies and that those records have not been released yet. I would love to see that since some think he was a Nazi spy etc.

    Hi Rick;
    You are talking about the English TV chef Julia Child? How does she fit into this equation? I knew that Errol liked his Roast Beef he served it quite often and he liked it medium at that!
    I thought you where talking about a researcher who had all the facts about Errol. How wrong one can be!
    I have not heard of anything new being released about his services. Maybe one of our other members have some information about it?
    In regards to your statement that some people think he was a Nazi spy there is not much anybody can say. People will always believe what they want to believe. If there would be a great monetary value on ignorance and stupidity we would have millionaires coming out of our ears. Don't you think so too?
    I am sorry that I can't give you the answer you are seeking.
    All I can tell you is Errol did his fair share and i am sure you know about that.
    Great talking to you! We all value your participation on this wonderful blog.
    Have a great Sunday,
    Tina
