Above I have posted posters for Sean’s films which had theatrical release in either the USA or the UK, along with an article he wrote which appeared in the NY Daily News. Much is being said of a riff between Errol and Sean because of one letter Sean wrote in anger at age 16. Whatever disagreements father and son may have had, there was always love and pride there. Happy Birthday, Sean!

A strange moment: Tonight I was watching an interview with Francis Ford Coppola speaking about the making of “Apocalypse Now” and he got around to the character played by Dennis Hopper. He says that Hopper was originally to play the part of Lieutenant Colby (eventually played by Scott Glenn) but when Hopper arrived on set, Coppola was inspired to instead have him play a photojournalist. In the interview, Coppola specifically mentions that his inspiration was Sean Flynn, saying “He(Sean) was supposed to be an extraordinary character”. If you’re interested in hearing Coppola’s comments about “Errol Flynn’s son” it comes at the 31 minute mark.
