Janet Leigh and Errol Flynn

I never could figure out what that scarf is doing hanging down near Flynn's ear. Any ideas?

    Flynn sometimes wore a cravat, if I spelled that right? I wonder if this is one of them, undone? I dunno if you wear them with a sweater like his or not. What they doing here? Leigh has a bit of cloth in her mouth, it seems. Is she tying up a bandage or what? Or is the cloth related to what she is doing at all? Tom, you provide a real mystery with this one!

    I always thought Errol was trying to teach Janet how to roll a cigarette in this picture.

    Errol used to wear a lot of scarfs with shirts and V-neck pullovers, he preferred the sporty casual-elegant look. He would put the scarf into a triangle, put it around his neck and then he would make a loop at approximately at the middle of one end and slide the other end through the loop, then slide the other side of the scarf though the loop, tighten the loop and slide it under his chin. One part of the looped scarf would be shorter than the other, he would take the longer part and bring it from underneath the loop to the front underneath his chin, he would put it inside his shirt or pullover neck line, then straighten both side to the left and right of his neck line and the scarf would never slip – it would stay perfectly in place.
    I hope that helps to clarify the scarf.
    The other item, I would say he cut his finger and Janet Leigh plays nurse, but you better have a look at his face expression, which speaks louder than anything, the true Errol, he was his natural self – charming and lovely to the end!

    It looks like she has pulled off her glove. Is that jewelry? Love the explanation for the scarf.
