    Hi Kathleen;
    I hope all is well with you and you had a good jump into the new year. Your post is very interesting and maybe you should transfer it to the “main page” as nobody will look for it here under Errol's movie directors.
    I watched the trailer – I wonder what this movie is going to be like – it sure will be different at least what one can make out from the trailer..
    All the best,
    Tina

    Hi Tina; all is well and thank you for noticing my post in the wrong place (LOL). Not sure about Cate B. has Maid Marion–she looks drab in the scene. I thought she was royalty. The movie looks like it will be more like Gladiator and maybe more serious. I still think EF is the best and the 1938 version as well. K

    Hi Kathleen;
    You are very welcome! I don't know Cate B.? – you are right Maid Marion was royalty. Furthermore, you are extremely right – Errol was the best ever – unbeatable!
    Take care, I look forward talking to you again!

    In my humble opinion, Errol Flynn was born to play that role. Never before and never again will anyone be so suited to that role.

    Well I finally was able to view this movie at home (didn't catch it at the show). It wasn't all THAT bad. I actually like Russell Crowe, especially in the Gladiator and he seemed more this character than Robin Hood so there was no comparison. It wasn't at all what I expected and rather dark and moody. Marion was not demure and quite feisty. The stunts and scenes with fighting were interesting and the costumes were good-no tights. However, when I think of Robin Hood I'm always going to think of the 1938 version with EF–it's the best! Lots of chemistry and fun between the actors and actresses (Olivia and Una).

    I must be a hardcore EF fan because to me there will be no use in trying to remake the original, what ever it is, for me, it'll fall flat. No one can replace Errol in that role…sigh…..or in most any others for that matter! Just my opinion… :-)
