    Tina! This was wonderful–some pictures and footage I have not seen. Especially liked how he looked for William Tell. It would hve been a success!

    Hi Kathleen;
    I thought so too. Nice new content and realistic. Wilhelm Tell would have been a great success. Apparently he lost $450.000 of his own money and the Italian investors pledged the same amount, but did not come through with any money.
    That is wrong in the video – that he lost everything except his yacht, but if nothing else is wrong , we can live with that.

    Well he came close to losing quite a bit (besides his pledge), didn't he? His friend Bruce sued him and EF and Patrice's clothes, etc. were confiscated (that is what is stated in his book anyway). I watched the video a second time and I caught Howard Duff and Ida Lupino in attendance at the funeral. And, whenever I go to YouTube I seem to watch video of Lili Damita. She was quite something. Too bad she and EF didn't get along as they complimented each other when they were together. Do you know if she played in any movies with Gary Cooper? I know that she did with Cary Grant.

    Hi Kathleen,
    Yes, EF lost all of the money he pledged for William Tell. Also, Damita was in the following films (among others) Fighting Caravans with Cooper; Frisco Kid with James Cagney and This is the Night with Cary Grant.
