RH, and this is Flynn and Rathbone in a jousting scene not in the movie…

Flynn and Rathbone examining costume sketches for Robin Hood, but not, I believe, for a jousting sequence. William Keighley wanted to start the film with a jousting sequence, because the Fairbanks version had done so, but no one but he wanted to include it. The sequence was in the shooting script but was removed by Hal Wallis on 7 October 1937, less than two weeks after the start of filming at Chico on 27 September. Rudy Behlmer tells the whole story in BEHIND THE SCENES: THE MAKING OF… [1990 revised edition].

You're right, Mr. DeWitt. Allow me to correct myself! According to Derek Dubery's long-gone Flynn site, these ARE sketches/costume fittings for a jousting sequence—which was never filmed.
