Although this is great news, the film doesn't seem to have found widespread viewing in the UK among the smaller, more independant theatres. I'm especially disappointed it hasn't made it to Manchester, we have a wonderful old movie house here called 'The Cornerhouse' which I was certain would have picked it up.
Apparently 'Cameraman' received a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival, so this looks promising. Hopefully there will be a DVD release so our Flynn friends across the waters may get a chance to see it.

Thanks Karl,
Reviews of 'Cameraman' have been excellent. The Times actually rated it 5 out of 5 stars, which is quite unusual. I'm planning on making the Sheffield showing at the end of this month and am really looking forward to it.

Hi themainflynnman!
Tony Earnshaw of “Cinema Retro” has an article about Jack Cardiff in his #16 issue of this magazine, which bye the way is a wonderful magazine and I have it.
Tony Earnshaw's title for his write-up is:
GENTLEMAN JACK and the (untold) Story about “William Tell” an exclusive Interview by Tony Earnshaw!
I am planning to put this complete article on the Blog, but I haven't quite figured out how to do it, but I will and have the permission of the editor to do so. There are fabulous pictures with it, which some of them where never shown up to now!
Wish me luck that I am able to do it.
The best to you,
Tina

I have one or two William Tell things that I'd gladly exchange with you for scans of the article you mentioned. I am loathe to publish such things on a public forum but will glady do so off-site.
best wishes,
Brian.
