    David, thanks for putting this “here”. Tina, this was beautiful, especially the shots in color from Robin Hood. This pair is going to be forever.

    Hi Kathleen;
    Good to hear from you again and thank you for your comment!
    I thought I don't want to miss this important anniversary and hence produced this video!
    75 years ago – it was July 10, 1935 that it was announced that Errol was going to be Captain Blood and the shootings began August 7, 1935. Credit to our Robert for the actual dates
    How marvelous – the great DUO had their wonderful beginnings to bring us all so much pleasure!

    Absolutely beautiful!! It's ashame that they didn't make more movie magic together. They looked so right together,and Olivia will always be my favorite leading lady. What a great tribute Tina! And a great song to go with it, I got a little choked up.

    Hi Tammy;
    It is quite a while since we conversed.
    Thank you for your comment, which I appreciate very much.
    You are so right they were also in my opinion the greatest screen couple ever, their chemistry was unbeatable!
    I really enjoyed making this video and celebrate with it their 75th Anniversary.
    Best regards,
    Tina

    It was 8 July 1935 that Flynn was announced in the part of Captain Blood, not the 10th. Might as well be accurate!

    THE FRESNO BEE • MONDAY 8 July 1935
    =================================
    Errol Flynn Is Selected For Captain Blood Role
    By LOUELLA O. PARSONS
    LOS ANGELES, July 8.—Errol Flynn has waited around quite a spell without any sort of screen recognition. Then, presto chango, he took himself a wife and now a job, and a very important one, looms on the horizon for him. After three weeks of testing Michael Curtiz has finally settled on young Flynn, Lili Damita's bridegroom, as the lead in Captain Blood.
    Rafael Sabatini's thrilling story has no more adventures than those which Flynn has experienced in his own life when he was whale fisherman, a pearl fisherman and a contestant in the Olympic games.
    Olivia de Havilland, Reinhardt's protege, also gets her big chance as Arabella, while Casey Robinson will adapt the Sabatini novel.

    Hi Dave;
    Thank you so much for this great article from Louella Parsons and Hurray we have another correct date! Please see my post under “Candid Pictures” under the title of “Are there any correct DATES”. Which proofs also that Errol married Lili on May 5th and not as often stated on July 29th. Maybe we can find out more correct dated through old Newspaper publications. Problem is to find the names of these various publications and then if there are archives on hand going back that far.
    Keep bringing those goodies!
