    The photo of Errol with the snowman, it says elsewhere in this blog that it’s 1940 and was taken at Sun Valley ID – I am almost positive this is from 1940 and was taken at then then, new Sugar Bowl ski resort near Donor Lake, CA — there are a few photos of Errol from that same day at Sugar Bowl with Rita Hayworth that have been used along with this one by that ski resort in their decor and short history they put on now and again. I’ve been seeing these since I was a young gal in the 40s – that was the new Hollywood destination for skiing at that point.

      Here’s a good article about Errol & Walt Disney’s visits to Disney’s Sugar Bowl. Up at Averell Harriman’s Snow Valley, Errol also famously visited on occasion. (In fact, whenever he visited, his visit itself was always an occasion.)

      Here’s the (apparently inaccurately titled) “It Happened in Sun Valley”. Glenn Miller died/disappeared around Christmas 1943, only two years after filming this, so here’s a tribute to the Glenn Miller, Flynn’s immortal contemporary:
