Authentic?

12 Oct

Remember when we discussed the Errol/Patrice wedding album? It's still/again for sale, and I just discovered a strange letter by the same seller. Check it out for yourselves:

cgi.ebay.com…

What do the experts say? Authentic?

Thanks for posting this. Where else could we read a personal letter written by a daughter to her parents. Loved EF's postscript at the bottom. Pay $5,800? I don't think so!!!

The prices are crazy, you're right. But very interesting read – just that we're not allowed to copy it. Does anybody know what would happen if? – As I said before, maybe we should start a collection on the blog… for such purchases.

Wow — that's a great find! What an interesting letter! But $5,800 is pretty steep. I imagine the price will be reduced like it was for the wedding album.

The Cigarette Case from John Barrymore is another interesting item. I remember Wayne Newton had one of his cases as well…

He must have somehow gotten his hands on all of this Flynn memorabilia, perhaps from the family. He must be legit to some degree because he couldn't possibly 'fake' all of this…. Read what else he has for sale on EBay:
For auction is Errol Flynn's ORIGINAL SIGNED CONTRACT for the movie “ISTANBUL” which he signed with UNIVERSAL PICTURES in February of 1956. This 8 1/2″ x 11″ contract has some revisions which were also initialed by Errol Flynn on four of the inside pages. There are 15 pages in all typed on one side. In fine condition with very nice Errol Flynn autograph on the last 15th page and four “EF” additional page initials on the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 7th pages.
This contract would look spectacular if framed with a clip from the movie like the one pictured below. Comparisons of ISTANBUL have been made to Casablanca but this is actually a remake of “Singapore”, that starred Fred MacMurray and Ava Gardner. I also have listed on ebay the original letters that Errol Flynn and his wife Patrice Wymore Flynn wrote to family while on their Yacht Zaca in 1952. See my ebay store! I also have listed their Wedding album with all original photographs of both weddings being civil and traditional, many of which were published by the media, the Original Wedding invitation, Arnella Flynn's baby and childhood pictures, telegrams, tax returns, resumes, scrapbook filled with news articles and photographs, postcards, and numerous other Flynn items.

Yep, it's just crazy… he also has got several other letters. It's a pity that he's trying to get as much money out of it as possible instead of giving the stuff to one of the big collectors or a Flynn scholar for future research…

I agree…I seriously doubt in this economy he'll fetch the prices he's asking.
