Louise Marino

02 May

Our great friend Jack Marino has been at the center of many things related to Errol Flynn including books and documentaries and interviews, and he and his lovely wife Louise hosted a truly epic party on the occasion of Errol's 100th birthday. His wife Louise opened her home and heart to so many of us who were meeting for the first time in his home as well as private events of the legendary Mulholland Drive Boys. Robert has reported that Louise has suffered a serious heart attack and is in a coma at Northridge Hospital undergoing a series of tests and Jack asks that we keep her in our thoughts and prayers in hopes of a full recovery. Jack we hold you both in our thoughts and prayers…

I just spoke to Jack at the Hospital and Louise is still in a coma and her vital signs are stable. She had the heart attack in her sleep while taking a nap.
I pray that Louise has a full recovery and my compassion is with both of them.

Some of you may already know that Louise is improving according to Jack who I talked to last night on the phone. He told me Louise did not have a heart attack as feared but a severe reaction to accidentally taking some of his diabetes medication and her coma is a result of this. This did affect her heart but at least it was not her heart that was the cause of problems originally. He told me she can move her toes and fingers and she can open her eye if you say something loudly enough to her so he is greatly encouraged. He said he feels there may be no brain damage while waiting to see what happens when she wakes up fully. She is, he said, waking slowly, perhaps too slowly as far as her doctors are concerned but doing things in her own time and that can't be bad. So keep up the positive thoughts and prayers for Louise and Jack, it seems to be working!

We will, David, at least there is a little hope after all this bad news.
