Errol wrote a script that would become a film. (1)What was the original title? (2)What was the renamed title? (3)What was the last title we would see on the screen?

    Well he received 25K for his the White Rajah but I don't expect you are referring to this.
    So my guess you are referring to the screenplay he co-authored which became Cuban Rebel Girls. Also known as “Assault of the Rebel Girls” (original title). I've never seen it all so I can't answer the last part.

    You got me there, Larry. All I can come up with is NOT the right answer, but a good guess and trivial info, although it is not what you are looking for.
    1) Cuban Rebel Girls 1959
    2) The story of William Tell 1953 (would be the first independent Cinemascope film)
    3) Adventures of Captain Fabian 1951
    Apparently he wrote these 3 scripts. Confession: I used IMDB as a source!
    With a bit of luck and spare time I will dig into other sources, I indeed like the complexity of your quiz question. I am certain the right answer will come sooner rather than later by another member.

    The answers to questions one and two are almost a bit interchangeable. In fact, the project had several titles going for it, they changed all the time. But if we take it strictly, here we go:
    1) The original title was “The Bewitched”, based on the novel “Fabulous Ann Madlock” (or, as the French press claimed, on an original novella by Errol)
    2) Alternative titles were: “The Bargain” and “Bloodline”
    3) the final title was: “Adventures of Captain Fabian”

    I just got home from a shopping trip for kitchen tiles and found none to fit my color scheme. I am cheesed off!

    Aresia, you have all 3 but I was looking for the Errol script originally “Bloodline” renamed “The Bargain” and finally renamed “Adventures of Captain Fabian”. This question was found in Higham's book Errol Flynn the untold story on page 288. You hit all 3….you are the winner.

    Thank you, Larry. Ironically, this was a service question for me – I got the info from my own post here on the blog which I wrote some months ago – based NOT upon the Higham book, but upon original French press articles. So I guess that this time, I might be a little more right than Mr Higham – unless he can prove that the original title was “Bloodline”. I trust more in the French press and their statement of “The Bewitched” and the later re-naming into “Bloodline” and “The Bargain”. So… first Higham mistake exposed without even reading the book?

    Wow – we now discovered that there are actually four different titles!
    “The Two Towers of New Orleans” is definitely another title to this movie! How nice it is to discover things!

    “The Two Towers” was eventually made with Orlando Bloom, and “Bloodline” with Audrey Hepburn.

    Congratulations and a most deserved one as you made such an extensive research into this movie! I should have read it one more time, but I did not, my loss.
    BTW, there is one more plus out of this great quiz question we have discovered another title: “The Two Towers of New Orleans”
    “The Bewitched”
    “The Bargain”
    “Bloodline”
    and “The Two Towers of New Orleans”
    before becoming
    “Adventures of Captain Fabian”
    I think “Bloodline” maybe would have been the best title for the movie, just in my smallish opinion!
    Well done girl! Now place the next question!
    I know you are still sleeping and I am just going to bed, but very soon you will be up and agile to place the next clincher!

I had to laugh so much when I read Larry's question because it was really easy for me, and the answers given showed to what extent some posts are read and remembered. *lol* just kidding.

    Most interesting – do you have any more information about that? Is it the same story as Captain Fabian with Orlando Bloom's “The Two Towers”, and “Bloodline” with Audrey Hepburn?
    Would be great to know!

    I am not sure, but I think it is in “The Two Lives of Errol Flynn”, but I have to look and I'll be back when I find it!

    Hi Inga and Larry;
    As promised here is the information it is all in “The Two Lives of Errol Flynn” on page 209 and if I would have read it before answering I would have had them all right … ugh!
    And more importantly there is a fifth title as stated in the book “New Orleans Adventure”, that movie had sure titles galore!
    We are now at five titles – our archive book, if we had one is sure growing!
