Maria, have a look at youtube, here you can find the sketch this photo was taken from. Errol also made a short appearance as “Black Pedro” later in the show. Robert, why do you think Errol did NOT accept the offer?

I know Lou Costello and Errol would trade films to show in their home theaters. I heard a story once that Errol played a joke on Lou and included a mislabeled stag film in a trade-off causing major embarrassment for Lou when he ran the film. Does anyone have any clarification on this story?

Yes, Errol slipped in a few reels of “adult” nature in a stack of films meant for a children's party. You can imagine the embarrassment in the room. Errol was a practical joker, often for his own enjoyment and not for others who were at the receiving end.
Our “bad boy” (not always) sometimes had a sinister sense of humour. Not people know this but you can imagine what he did when making omelettes for breakfast in his kitchen for his friends. I don't want to go into details here.

Errol denied strongly that he did this. He apparently said “for once I am innocent”
It is always so easy for people to stuff nasty innuendos and stupid gossip into Errol's shoes ever since the trial and Errol hated it and often was extremely hurt by this foul, twisting and turning publications about him. It is so sad that he became the play-ball of nasty jokes.
As Errol said I am declared innocent but actually “I lost”. He knew that life will be a lot different for him after he was made the scapegoat for Warner with this farce trial.
