More from Manly – Errol’s Early Stomping Grounds

07 Sep

Donna Juana sends more from Manly!

Including a photo of Mrs. Robinson’s(!) cottage, in the second photo below, where Errol’s grandmother and aunt lived, and where Errol stayed and played as a boy and young man. Donna has discovered that the Robinson’s cottage was at 91 Stuart Street! I have never seen this address or a photo of the home published before. Thank you Donna, and thank you to the Manly residents and officials who helped her find this address!!! With special thanks to Manly official John M!)

Believed to be of Errol’s childhood play areas, where Errol spent much time in this area during his formative years. Donna discovered that one of the things he is believed to have done is to jump off the cliff at the end of the block at Spring Cove, a rite of passage for Manly teenagers.

I can see why Errol fit right into the Hollywood hills…
I was just wondering how interesting it is that Errol
Married a gal with that same name…Lilly…..

Excellent observations, timerider! Perhaps the hills of Manly did prep Flynnie for the hills of Hollywood. And perhaps Lily F. did prep him for Lily D. The Lilies did seem to have some things in common. For example they both hated Errol’s autobio!

Here’s one of the Manly cliffs manly young Errol reportedly used to leap from, into Spring Cove, I believe. Hard to believe he would not have.

It was always my opinion that Errol went from one abusive woman, his mother, to another abusive woman, his first wife Lily. But when I first found out that his mom’s real name was also Lily, you could have knocked me over with a feather. The abuse he endured from those two adult women is reason enough for him to prefer the company of teenage girls.

Well…these 2 women were spitfires and Errol’s mum was not capable of raising a boy let alone one that may have been hard to handle..LOL! His father was gone allot and the daughter may have been easier for Lilly. I don’t blame Errol’s rebellious tendencies on Lilly. I really think it was inherent somehow.
His mum was hard on him but maybe it was called for?
Now Lilly number 2 was very possessive and jealous, could you really blame her? I guess i’m sticking up for these 2 cause I think they are HOT! LOL!

Too bad the Merry Men didn’t include a Bad Girl. Lili would have been perfect. And she came with her own feather, horse and sword.
