Has anyone else come across this interesting little documentary from 1979? It is narrated by Robert Vaughan and while the content is hardly new it does show quite a few interesting photographs that I hadn't seen before. It also features quite detailed footage of Errol in London on the 'In Town Tonight' programme looking for funds for William Tell. All-in-all quite enjoyable.

Sounds interesting! I am surprised that Robert Vaughn would be asked to do it or did out of his own accord? I read his “funny” remark in Tom McNulty's book “That what thirteen year old girls do to you”, I am sure you read it too.

I think Vaughn probably meant 15 year old girls, since that was Beverly Aadland's age when Flynn met her?

Most likely he meant fifteen, but is says thirteen, I am sure he meant no harm with his remark and intended it as a joke! I can see the humor in it!

I recently bought a batch of Flynn's television stuff on DVD and it came as part of that. There was also some Charles Higham interviews too – cost me well over £50.00 for the lot but looking over everything — 7 episodes of The Errol Flynn Theatre, Errol Flynn: Secret Lives, Errol Flynn: Hollywood Greats, Remembering Errol Flynn, The Golden Shanty, The Sword of Villon, Rory Flynn interview, Sean Flynn documentary, William Tell footage, Pirate Party on Catalina, Deep Sea Fishing, Cruise of the Zaca — I think I got a good deal.
I have no idea why Vaughan was used on the documentary and yes, I read his remark… with a smile and a nod of the head.

I hope your copy of “The Sword of Villon” is a good copy? I purchased one for $29.95 plus shipping and it is so dark one cannot see anything – just horrible, but that's what one gets sometimes.

'The Sword of Villon' is a little dark but very watchable. I was very happy with all the DVDs actually… my old VCRs of all this stuff (sent to me by a very dear friend) were getting a little old and worn and were also in NTSC format playing on a PAL VCR… which made them very jumpy.
I bought the stuff from a place called ioffer, there is a guy on there selling this rare Flynn stuff but he isn't cheap.
The Higham interviews are really fascinating, he has the face of a man who knows he has been 'found out'. It would be interesting to know exactly what the repurcussions of the Flynn book were for this man.
