Thanks for posting this vid, David — those blooper reels are always fun to watch! :-)
I'm guessing the scenes with Errol were from the film Silver River?
Amazing how he can be so debonair one minute and then say something naughty and outrageous the next. Certainly got Ann Sheridan to laugh. :-)

Yes, I love this scene from Silver River, just watched the movie yesterday and had to think of it. Errol's smile at the end when he watches the crew – *melt*. Thanks for posting, David! Btw, in some scenes, I had the impression that Errol seemed a little bit drunk really… correct me if I'm wrong?

It is truly amazing that the concentration of an actor can change so dramatically within seconds to something totally different. I have seen some actors who are so taken up in the moment that they need to take a few moments to come out of whatever deep feeling they were having during a take. Keifer Sutherland, for example, had to close his eyes and let such a moment pass before he could speak to anybody while filming scenes for The Vanishing that I worked on and was sitting near him in an open air cafe scene. They cut me out of this scene, btw, because I had been clearly visible in another scene of the movie at a gas station in North Bend, WA… But I have seen many bloopper moments happen on movie sets and it is always either funny or frustrating for the actors.

It's possible, of course. I think Errol in the blooper with the President knew that the take was worthless because he the actor playing the President had spoken over each other's lines in a way that was unacceptable so he took the moment to have a little fun and his costar fell right in with him and helped create a priceless laugh for everybody… I really enjoy these blooper reels featuring Errol. You would be surprised what a potty mouth Olivia deHavilland had, too!

Ahhh, okay…*now* I get it! I had a feeling that's what was going on with that particular blooper. Thanks for clarifying that, David. :-)

My daughter put some screen captures of me on Facebook that show me in the Vanishing and Hand that Rocks the Cradle. That is me way back in the day with the dark hair and baseball cap in the Vanishing behind a young Keifer Sutherland and in a grey suit with dark hair in the doctor's office in The Hand that Rocks the Cradle. I was also seen in another scene of HTRC walking hand in hand with a lady in front of the botanical gardens. fun!

I was amazed how Reagan changed language, mood, lack of concentration, etc. These bloopers are priceless. Errol was funny and Anne just burst out. I still smile over these bloopers and I saw them yesterday!! Thanks, Larry

Maybe this is a bit off-topic, but I would be interested in knowing how you Amercians reacted back then to Reagan becoming President. You knew him as an actor – how did you feel about his ambitions and finally his presidency? Would be thankful for any insight. Thanks for bringing it up, Larry!

Ronald Reagan was one of America's greatest presidents. He brought honor and pride of country back to Americans, and security to the world. I remember feeling safe with him in the driver's seat, and along with many others, I miss him dearly.

I recall many people had the feeling an actor had no place “playing” President, as if you could only be one thing in life. I am sure his acting talents and abilities to speak and move a crowd helped him to communicate better than most to his audiences. He was a b movie actor, never a great star, but if you look at some of his performances he was much underrated as an actor. He obviously had a lot of fun! He was a Democrat in the beginning and railed against Republican ideology, and then for some reason switched parties. He was reviled by many, and loved by many until he left office and many believe he had already suffered will Alzheimer's while in office. There is a blog rule about not talking about politics on the blog unless it is Flynn's politics so I must stop here but I hope this has answered your question.

Yes, thanks to both of you, I was really surprised about your opinions but won't go into detail here not to break the rules. But thanks very much, it was very interesting to get to know!
