… appeared in a successful TV series together and… also, separately, had screen appearances in some Errol Flynn films: one of them twice, and the other 6 times (though actually there were 7 only this actor’s scenes were deleted).
Hints:
One began film career in 1916; the other had a diverse job career: ranch hand, a deputy sheriff, photo salesman, and a singer in night clubs before beginning a film career.
One appeared in over 100s film in the course of his career; the other more than 50.
One worked with Hitchcock, the other with Bogie 8 times.
In the 50s one appeared in a seminal Sci Fi film that led to a number of “sequels”, the other appeared in a landmark teen film.
One’s final film appearance was with a bombshell of the 60s. The other a fondness for flowers and grapes in this actor’s later life.
That’s a start…

Well, Karl, I believe this Case of the Curious Colleagues can be half solved with the legendary TV lawyer depicted below. … As for the Bogie Man, that remains a mystery in my mind! Having began his or her career in 1916 would seem to indicate he or she was either a child star or significantly older than Errol, especially in a 60’s film featuring a bombshell.

Ahoy Sir Tim-
Long time since I’ve walked on these boards and, while you are spot on as concerns one of these fine “gentlemen”, your suppositions as to both points on the other are… how can I put this… as cold as my clues apparently have been thus far. Feel we should wait till at least that Colorful Chicagoan comes on line to give it a go (if not some of the other equally BRILLIANT BRAIN trust reassembles after their Flynnian nights on the town).

BTW, Tim… you post a photo here of Mara Maru. I had the RARE PRIVILEDGE of sitting behind Jack Marino and Paul Picerni (at Jack’s MAGNANIMOUS 100th birthday celebration) while watching same and Paul would occasionally provide humorous commentary along the way… like the suit Flynn was wearing in the church scene- how it was only for that one scene, that Flynn INSISTED on its being made (against cost-conscious opposition) and… how he ultimately walked away with it! Again, btw, there’s a vague “hint” of a clue worked into this comment but~ don’t read too much into it!

Hello Bob-
Just as your fellow “Bob” (of a slightly different spelling) known for his cool and capable moderation of Face the Nation, you did, INDEED, nail it with the same graciousness and aplomb…
And thanks to Ralph for filling in in the interim as my rusty wheels were slow to grind out the confirmation!

Still awaiting Karl seeing these other replies. He was away so long WordPress moderated hid first two comments and I just approved them. Tim, I changed the photo with Burrow because of the stock photo labels printed across it. We try to avoid photos marked like this.

Thank you Karl! Excellent quiz! And thank you David for getting it rolling for all of us.
Here’s Hopper, before being an OSS frogman in WWII turned his hair all white …. or perhaps it was it Momma Hopper herself.
