Always thought that at this particular time of his life, he and Randolph Scott shared a remarkable resemblance to one another though Scott was his senior by more than 10 years and so, “related” would not be even a remote possibility or…

Quite right King Karl. And the moustache became a must for every good looking guy ever since Errol hit the Silver Screen.

None looked better in a small mustache than Errol, Himself…

Funny how something like a mustache people would label to such one person in reference to it?

Whenever I or others I have met along the way that carried one in such the same cut style that people would refer it as; Errol Flynn mustache!
Yet again, no one could make claim to the overall handsomeness of the face the mustache came in contact with such as his.

In that photo he does look like Flynn a bit. That was a really good film they did together. If it had been shot in color it would have been a much bigger deal than it is now.

Twin – The movie in reference, Virginia City, in 1940 – If I remember reading once that Flynn wanted the roles reversed.
He wanted Scotts role, so to have a different take on his character he was always known to be, Good Guy…but Warner said no do to just that. They wanted him to be the good guy as that’s what the people would always be looking for in a Flynn adventure. I though he would have been great in the reversal, but then again I am slightly bias in my thinking due to the fact the I thought he was great anyway….

By the way, it kills me how the critics always attacked Flynns acting, when he as we know never really got his credit due:
Frank Nugent of The New York Times, despite criticizing the acting talents of Flynn and Hopkins, wrote that “there is enough concentrated action in [Virginia City], enough of the old-time Western sweep, to make it lively entertainment”.
Soooo did he happen to miss Bogies hilarious attempt at playing a Mexican bandit with at times a “Angels with Dirty Faces” accent?….;-)

Si, Senor Sergio, bogie was one bogus mexicano. dat was definitely a badcall by the hermanos at el warners. As Errolaptly said Senor Bogus::

“Don’t reach for that. Put ’em up! I thought that little Deringer of yours looked a little too well used for a sample, Mr. Murrell. In any case, I didn’t like your face. As a matter of fact, I still don’t.”

Regarding Randy, Errol was always far more randy and rebellious than Randy and would have been a consummate confederate.
