This man was an actor, athlete, and aviation pioneer, who once built something unique for Errol. He’s been called “the original British rock star.” A famous Hollywood star, used to work for his aviation business. Among many movies, he made very highly regarded ones with Bette Davis, Victor McLaglen, Leslie Howard, and Laurence Olivier. I could drone on but let’s just say he was A Man of Many Talents.
Who is he, what was it he built for Errol, and who was his famous future-star employee???

You got it, Bob! Congradulations! Very impressive! How the heck did you get that so quickly?!
Yes, as the video linked below says: “He IS Reginald Denny.”
Here he is in Romeo & Juliet costarring with two of Errol’s Movietown mates, Rathbone and Barrymore. Shearer and Howard, too, as you know who, Juliet & Romeo..
Now, for the Trifecta, who was his future-famous employee, and what did he build for Errol??

Just came across this post of yours. The “worker” is Marilyn Monroe.

I remembered him at about that age as the architect in Mr Blandings builds his dream house with Loy and Grant. LOL

Yes, Norma Jean! Excellent!

“It was at this factory on June 26, 1945 that Army photographer David Conover saw a young woman assembler named Norma Jeane Dougherty, who he thought had potential as a model. She was photographed in the plant, which led to a screen test for Norma Jeane, who soon changed her name to Marilyn Monroe.”

Reginald should have been picked for the part of Heinrich Dorfmann, the miniature controlled model airplane designer in; “The Flight of the Phoenix” (1965)….
In staying with this post, here’s a little trivia I just discovered on Wikipedia for myself and anyone else who may have not known it either:
Marilyn Monroe was discovered working as an assembler at Radioplane. A photographer assigned by Denny’s friend, Army publicist (and future US President) Captain Ronald Reagan, took several shots and persuaded her to work as a model, which was the beginning of her career.

Ahh, the lucky bastards … I mean poor enemy bastards … who went down getting attacked by one or more of her drones.

First I’d have to get on first! Here’s a video about the Ruth-less Steinbrenners stealing home, the former home to Joltin’ Joe, where Marilyn would visit every now and then. Word is Flynn and DiMaggio would cross paths on occasion further downtown, at Tott Shoors.
Hard to know for sure, Sir Sergio.

Yes! Quoting a national news report:
FLYNN’S _____ MODEL BUILT IN HOLLYWOOD
Reginald Denny is having a model of ______________ built for the star. Denny’s North Hollywood factory, which turned out model airplanes for anti-aircraft targets during the war, will construct the model ____ to scale. Flynn, who is currently at work in the Warner Bros, film, “Escape Me Never” with Denny, will add the model to his collection.

Here are very impressive models from Errol”s Escape Me Never era, but our mystery model was not of this particular type, though she was indeed a beauty. Still around, too. Living in Europe.

The Zaca. Reginald Denny always had a debonair way about him. I think he would have been a natural for a detective series back in the day. I believe he had similar acting traits in the David Niven and William Powell vein.

You got it Bob! The Zaca!! … Now if only we could find that model!
Perhaps this shows part of Errol’s “collection” mentioned in the news report.

Ahoy Bobeye the Sailorman and Bluefin Tim! I suspect the ship model Errol is holding to be the Mimosan, a yacht closely associated with Freddie McEvoy.

Ahoy, mcevoyheinz,! What an awesome find! Here’s some history and how it looks today. What’s the story on McEvoy? Did he come back from Davy Jones locker and set it ablaze, as depicted in the first link below?!
