    Ah, it was the Manet which is now in a museum … in Winterthur, Switzerland! Maybe one should contact the museum to ask how it got there? Did you do it, Tina? www.bundesmuseen.ch/roemerholz/index/00947/index.html?lang=de…

    Hi David;
    You took the wind out of my sail with Marguerite de Conflans it would have been my next picture for discussion. Errol was never photographed with her nor did he ever speak about her – I wonder why?
    Now there is maybe a little smoke as we all read your Decker write-up! Ha – Is it a Manet – Manet or is this a Decker-Manet?
    I found the following information: Edouard Manet. Marguerite de Conflans Wearing a Hood. c.1873. Oil on canvas. Oscar Reinhart Collection, Winterthur, Switzerland. Manet painted her five times and they were friends.
    It seams the picture is in Switzerland! Did Errol ever own the real McCoy?
    The picture was painted in 1873 – oil on canvas – 21in x 17 1/2in (53.3 cm x 44.5 cm)
    He had it hanging on the west wall of the living room on the left side of the doors leading into the dining room and on the opposite wall was hanging the Van Gogh, with the famous bar behind that wall. Errol's portrait was in the middle of the room above the fireplace. I wonder on which wall was the Gauguin?
    Now lets talk about “The Falling Rocket” by James Whistler! You know Errol never owned that picture! I never heard that he did – who came up with this the idea anyway that he owned this painting? I certainly would have fitted into Errol's life as this painting was associated with some bad law suits – right up Errol's alley.
    More tomorrow it is to late for me now! I have to hit the hey!

    Hi Inga;
    Great minds think alike – as you can see from my post to David I am on to them – the Reinharts. I also called them, very nice people!
    But have to wait until after September 5th when they are returning from vacation.
    Will see said the blind man to his deaf daughter.

    I swiped the pictures off of Jack Marino's website and he identifies then as being owned by Flynn. Will have to ask him about it – maybe his information was bad, too!

    I have seen a photo of the Manet sitting above Errol's radio – a radio the size and shape of a table, in his livingroom toward the stairs…
