No points for Knute, patriotheinz, but good for a first down. Errol was not to be in that winning film. That, of course, was the Errol Flynn of B’s.

Whereas Reagan’s slogan in this was “Win one for the Gipper, Flynn’s could have been “Win one for the zipper.”

It ain`t over until Brady`s lady sings, Fieldgoal Tim. My wild guess is “Jim Thorpe- All American” directed by Michael Curtiz starring the crimson pirate Burt Lancaster. Am I right!? For once I may have beaten Toronto Tina to the crunch…

Another All American attempt, ameriheinz, but not this wonderful football film either.

The Great Jim Thorpe was in several movies with The Great Flynn, including as a pirate in Captain Blood (and in King Kong, too), and even fisticuffing with feisty Flynn on the set of Boots. But the offensive Jack Warner did Errol not to my knowledge invite his star player , Flynn, to this Pop Warner football party.

Here’s Thorpe (Jim, not Geoffrey) out for a boat ride with Curtiz!

You’re more than halfway there, halfbackheinz! In fact, your two thirds of the way, “All American” being two thirds of the fooltball film Errol has been credited as being in. The drawback is that I’ve watched the movie – a Vitaphone short made around the time Errol first touched down in Tinseltown – but I can’t find Errol. Perhaps his appearance endrd up edited out, or his credit is in error.

The two lead stars were Hollywood favorites, appearing together in every film they made. One of them fathered a famous daughter. The other had no children, but was very popular with childten, and adults.

Well then it has to be none other than that star studded movie; All American Drawback (1935) … (?)… Maybe Errol is a stand in and hidden in a Charlie McCarthy wooden costume? You know Flynn, always looking to get his woody on…

Touchdown Sergio! Congratulations! And a Big Congratulations to the shangman too for taking the quiz two thirds of the way to the score!

Don’t believe Errol’s in there, but he’s been credited! … Then again, I didn’t see the cheerleaders’ locker room or under the stands.

Though Flynn may not be in, this quiz gives us yet another chance to feature one of our EFB favs – Sweet Marilyn:

See the IMBd, under All American Drawback. The only drawback that I can see is that Flynn is nowhere to be seen:
