PER THE IMBd: This biopic depicts Errol’s roust-about early life in Australia, before he became an internationally famed celebrity. In those days he was an adventurer, opium smuggler, gambler, street fighter, womanizer, and gold prospector. The film, based on Flynn’s early autobiography “Beam Ends,” was written for the screen by Luke Flynn, who found the inspiration as a result of travels through Australia in the footsteps of Luke’s iconic grandfather.

Awesome! I’m so glad that Luke is finally seeing his dream of doing this come true! Luke’s focus is not just pipe dreams but he is really moving in the right direction.
As for livie’s part I see no cigar but it’s going to be tough for those of us that are very close to the real. Oh well I’ll get over it and enjoy the completed production once it’s done. To be honest to all, I love the real life of Errol, especially the early years.

You’re right, timerider. Luke is doing it. No small accomplishment getting a project like this done. Bravo and congratulations, Luke!
As far as Liv, I think this young lady Ashlee is a doll. I think she can be made up to look like young Olivia, too. It looks to me like Luke has a very good eye for casting.
Evidently, she has acting chops, too, but obviously much is going to depend upon the depth of the role. There will never be another Olivia. In the “Space/Time” trailer linked below, I believe Ashlee’s character is actually named “Liv”.

Oh well , I’ll get over it Tim. In the photo of Ashlee in the flowers I can see the eyes do make a casting plus. I just have such a memory of Livie over so many years. The early years are embedded in my boyhood mind forever!

I understand perfectly, timerider. I, too, have had a crush on Olivia since as long as I can remember. I could O.D. watching O.D. in her E.F.films especially. We are not alone. Heck, even Fred MacMurray kept bugging her to marry him during a series of killer bee attacks in The Swarm, a disatrous disaster film if ever there was one. As Willie Shakespeare may have written one midsummrr night, had he wrote The Swarm and met Olivia: Through bees or not through bees, there is no question, Lady Livvie is the one.

Yes, indeed, videoheinz, Mulcahy has quite a cinematic c.v., e.g. Bette Davis Eyes in the Eighties, and now In Like Flynn. Petty Bette might not be happy that Mulcahy has moved onward and upward to making a movie about the Master of Mulholland.

I wonder even more why Luke didn`t take over the role of his granddad. I hope he didn´t have to sell off his stake for a mere mentioning to see the film happen…maybe Rory knows more.

When I first heard about the film I immediately thought that Luke must be sinking a lot of money in this film, and I hope it doesn’t turn out like William Tell did for Errol.
As for Rory, she didn’t know about the film until I wrote her and mentioned the film.
The film The Last Of Robin Hood lost a ton of money, and didn’t see very wide distribution. Considering that the guys who made TLORH did an amazing job of keeping the costs down while maintaining very high standards for the film, they deserved better. I’m not sure they’re out of the red yet.
In any case, when Luke’s film comes out I will see it, even if I have to fly to the theater in Tasmania.to see it.

btw, anybody see a Richard Dreyfuss likeness in Errol’s running mate? … btw2, I watched part of “Madoff” on Sunday night, and Richard Dreyfuss said “In like Flynn” in a scene to his son. Dreyfuss being such a big FlynnFan, I wouldn’t be surprised a bit if it was an ad lib.
