Very interesting story. The last picture reminds me of a picture of EF spear fishing, that I saw in a 1939(?) Life magazine. Was that last picture of the guy with a spear Errol?

Yes, that’s Errol, in the summer of ’41 … at the peak of his fame and glory – shorty before his life took a dive, too – thanks in large part to one of guests on the Sirocco during the historic Peter Stackpole photo sessions.

I heard something to the effect that she walked up to him in the bar she worked at, started talking about his boat, and said “I want to -crew”. For some reason, that line clears my sinuses, fast.

Peter looks like a shoot on “Sea Hunt”, could have been Lloyd’s brother…..

I see what you mean. There is a resemblance.
I once saw Lloyd Bridges in a library in Manhattan. He was with a plump short woman who I think was wearing a fur coat, or a fur trimmed coat.
He seemed to be very tall. She looked very short, and I think she was his wife Dorothy Dean Bridges.
