Mail Bag! Screenland Magazine 1939! Day with Errol!

05 Aug

From our friend, Shel:

David,

I came across an article, “A Real Day with Errol Flynn”  may (or, let’s be honest, may not) be of interest to you…

Screenland (April, 1939)

Best,

Shel

You can scroll through the magazine and enlarge the pages. If the article seems to end on the page, scroll past the next page of ads and it will continue. Quite an interesting look at the way the studios promoted their stars …

Thanks, Shel …

Was anyone else surprised at how hyper Errol was? He seemed hyper to begin with, but on top of that he drank coffee by the pot full. It’s as if he was uncomfortable just coasting through the day and he had to keep moving.

Could that need to keep moving be a need to constantly be distracted from something?

I know that some people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder can be like that, they have to be distracted otherwise they replay the bad experience(s) in their head over and over. Errol certainly had some bad experiences in his life, and maybe he needed to keep running away from the bad memories?
